Suddenly
(*Fabulous photography by my wonderful husband Travis...whom Avery will smile at despite having a camera to his face)
A minute ago you were my tiny baby...so soft, I could almost not even feel your skin.
And suddenly here you are-- standing, clapping, laughing, dancing. So full of joy!
Suddenly your hair has curls! (At least in the tub.)
And you throw your arms around me in hugs. (I dreamed about that day a little bit I must admit.)
And you are growing right before our eyes.
And while we are so thankful you are healthy and well and thriving,
when I packed up your teeny tiny soft gowns today,
it broke my heart (just a little bit) too.

It happens so fast. It's like that song, "Turn Around". All you can do is enjoy every minute.

Big change since that initial 3-D ultrasound. I think babies just continue to get more fun the older they get. :) (You, for example, are a lot of fun) XO
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. Too fast!!! But they do get more and more fun!
ReplyDeleteoh she is soo cute. I love those pictures. She has such the cutest smile. always soo happy.
ReplyDeleteohhhh, I just can't get enough!!!! Keep the pics a comin'-- I am in love with her!
ReplyDeletePs: "tanned arms" are easily acquired...two words: photo shop :)
Thanks for making me smile today.
She really is growing up!OX, Mom
ReplyDeletei just realized it's almost time for that big first birthday that you've been planning...for the last year ;) baby girl is growing up!
ReplyDeleteIt is getting a little creepy how on the same wavelength we are. First the oilcloth, now the "our babies are growing up too fast" theme. Oh, wait. All moms think that.
ReplyDeleteAww, she is a sweetie pie. It is bittersweet to see them grow up, but it is so fun when they learn to communicate and start saying all sorts of funny things. It really does just get better and better.
ReplyDeleteIf you were as crazy as I am, you'd never have to pack up your baby clothes again. ;)
P.S. Can I copy an idea you did for Avery's room? The little fabric applique tree in the frame? I love it, I've loved it since you did it, and since it was your idea I thought I'd ask first.
ReplyDeleteThis is too cute! I just want to give her kisses! lucky for mom, i don't see any teeth yet :)
