Scootch on over to Project Run and Play to vote for your favorite! Mine is at the very end so be sure to scroll all the way down to see it.
(and THANKS if you voted for me!)
(I'll be back later to add to this...I have so much to say! about this dress that has consumed my life the past few weeks.)
This is one of the prettiest Run and Play projects I have ever seen! The colors and full skirt are so perfect and the dress looks beautiful on your daughter. I am just so in love with it! Great work.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you hand-pieced that skirt! I thought at first that the fabric was printed with that pattern. Amazing, Danielle.
ReplyDeletemy two year old just saw this and said, "that, i very want. that, i need it to dance." you got her approval!
ReplyDeletedanielle, it's GORGEOUS. it's total eye candy - i LOVE the colors, and i know how stretchy shot cotton gets when you try to sew it on the bias, so a huge pat on the back for the beautiful curves (i almost wrote YOUR beautiful curves, but that might be a little inappropriate...). hope YOU win - i need that tutorial! ;)
ReplyDeletethis is jaw droppingly gorgeous! Wow I can't believe you made the scallops, I had to read that to believe it! The curved button placket is beautiful as well, I want to copy that asap! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteholy cow, what a fabulous dress! I am in awe. for real.
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Gosh! I can't believe you stitched the pretty colors together on the skirt! Aaaamazing! No lying... my favorite! Go Danielle!
ReplyDeletewow. Just... wow. It's amazing. The silhouette is beautiful and fun, the colors are stunning, and the overall feeling is playful but kind of grown up as well. I love the details too, the buttons, the scallops, the curved placket... it's really stunning. I wish I could sew like this, I'd make one for my daughter in an instant!
ReplyDeleteThis is very stunning! All your hard work paid off :) I love the colors and the bodice mimicking the arches was genius. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteYou, my dear are a designer. Seriously. Your dress is HANDS DOWN the best in the group. Not only your handiwork (flawless) but the colors/design look effortless, sophisticated, and fresh. WELL DONE, dear! :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could vote 100 times over!
wow! this is really amazing :) unbelievably lovely work!!
ReplyDeleteI like who you changed the shape of the bodice flap to a rainbow shape :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you're in the lead! Underdog my eye! It's really great, my favorite part is how it has both the rainbow shape in the skirt and all the colors of the rainbow in the dress.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. Amazing dress!
ReplyDeleteAnd how did you ever get Avery to be such a perfect little model? She looks adorable.
ok - really, you hand pieced that skirt?! I thought it was the fabric at first...that is AMAZING!! So well done!
ReplyDeleteStunning, Danielle, really. I want that dress for myself! I can't imagine how much work that was! Very, VERY well done!

Your entry is FABULOUS! I love the vintage feel, with the short skirt and more fitted long sleeves. And the fabric! And the curves! There is no aspect of this dress that could be improved!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and colorful dress! :) Love the shape of the dress and the front placket (?).
ReplyDeleteI voted. You win.

How awesome! Thanks, Vanessa, for letting me be related to Danielle! I voted for you, and am looking forward to also voting for you in the category: elegant wedding veils designed and created between the hours of 1am and 3:30am!
ReplyDeleteUm, Wow. Wowee wow wow. I love PRandP and this dress is so beautiful. LOVE the colors. Can't wait to see what else you come up with!!
ReplyDeleteHad to stop by from PR&P to say, "Fantastic Job!". This dress is amazing!!!
ReplyDelete1. I am amazed by the appliqué. I couldn't begin to imagine how to do that without steam a seam!
ReplyDelete2. Brilliant choice to make it long sleeved. It would have been cute short sleeved, but not nearly as perfect.
3. Awesome construction and fit.
4. You are blowing my mind with your creativity. It's not that often that you see a totally unique idea. I am amazed!
Bowing down,
anne
Wow! This one floored me! Great job! It is so original and unique!

I just voted for you and it looked like you were in the lead!! Way to go. If I only I had a girl to put her in such an adorable dress. Love it!
ReplyDeleteDanielle You are so so clever. I just voted for you so good luck from here in New Zealand. have you ever checked out Trelise Cooper Kids? She is an amazing fashion designer here in NZ [sadly her kidswear line has just closed ] I think you may adore her designs. Keep up your gorgeous work.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a dress that fit this perfectly! Amazing, Danielle, and so lovely. My girls are hanging over my shoulder saying, "Is this a dress for me?" I am so impressed. I hope you win!! (And I love your honesty about feeding Oliver a cup of Cheerios so you could finish. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's really so beautiful and so you--I can tell you followed your own inspiration! Don't worry--my sink looks like that (though without all the pretty dishes) even when I have no impending high-pressure deadline. I can totally come pick your kids up (er, I guess only one will fit in my car) so you can get a little more sewing in. Let me know what afternoon would be most helpful! (And I'm serious.)
ReplyDeleteHOLD THE PHONE! You have to be kidding me with this dress. It is rocking my world so hard I can hardly stand it. Are you going to be making a pattern? Selling the dresses? You live in SLC? Can we be besties?!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I think it's your sister Vanessa who just left a comment on my blog and I followed the rabbit hole here and I'm dying!! xoxo
Not sure what I can add to the multitude of compliments... suffice it to say I am an admirer as well! LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress! I have a tiny question about the skirt: Is it just a gathered rectangle with a pettiskirt underneath???
