Project Run and Play Week 5

Week 5 of Project Run and Play and that means Special Occasion. I hope you like what I made!
Head on over to vote!

It's week 5! And I'm still here. But just barely and I mean barely. Thanks to some last minute facebook linking, and word of mouth, my dear friends and family saved me after seeing how close I was to being out last week. I honestly thought about taking myself out after the judges decided to let us all stay because our scores were so close. You know how on Project Runway the designers always say, "Its a competition...I'm not here to make friends"? Well...I feel the exact opposite. The absolute best part of this for me is the camaraderie and positive creative energy I get to be a part of! I wasn't sure it was worth it to stay if it meant upsetting the other girls who I am sure expected me to be out as much as I did after my votes lagged behind a little all weekend. In the end I decided to stay though, as my votes were fairly gotten, and I really love being a part of this.

(and just so you know...spreading the word via facebook or blog linking or twitter or messenger pigeon is perfectly fine and wonderful and I really appreciate the support! And its double elimination this week so I also really need it!! )

*You guys I'm sorry for this lame post. I have so much more I want to show you but my computer is having all sorts of problems. I will try to get it all sorted and add more later!

  3. This is gorgeous!I think it would also be an awesome idea for a women's summer skirt, high waist (everything else the same). The fabrics you chose are wonderful, maybe when you're done with the competition and have more time you could post where you find these gorgeous cottons. I have a hard time finding good quality, sheers. (I posted one of your pics on my blog today and linked to your blog)

  16. Danielle,
That dress is perfect on so many levels. The colors you picked for Avery were just perfect, how beautiful she looks, her eyes and hair go so well with the blues and white. The cut and proportion of the dress is exactly right as well as the flawless construction.
I love that you picked a washable, age appropriate fabric, the soft cottons and the old fashioned feel of the organdy are timeless yet with a modern twist of the raw hem.
The design is simple yet striking. The back is beautiful and the hooks are a perfect closure.Love the playful cotton balls along the hem!
It looks so comfortable and wearable, yet magical and inspired. It is fresh and unique and yet not so different as to be odd.
From conception to finish you have executed another winner.ox,mom

What fabric did you make this out of? I don't have the luxury of buying fabric from stores so I have to order it online? Is it lawn or organdy?
