We had to evacuate and so we grabbed our babies and the external hard drive and scooted.
I don't think our house is in any real danger, but as I lay here (in my brother's basement) with my two kids smooshed up against me sleeping, I'm totally comforted knowing I've got everything in the world that really matters to me at all.
Except I maybe should have grabbed my wedding ring.
Prayers for all the firefighters. It's looking like this is going to be burning for awhile.

ReplyDeleteSO relieved you are safe. Colleen and I were wondering what you would grab, and asked ourselves the same question. Uncle Bill's Mom, Roberta, was evacuated in Colorado Springs, too. She's safe.

ReplyDeleteGlad you grabbed all the important things. We are building in Saratoga springs and it came within 30 feet of us having to start all over. I hope they can put it out soon.:)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're all safe. I live in England and thankfully forest fires near habitation are rare. I just read the news article and I'm horrified at police shooting at dogs and dogs being left behind. That's dreadful. I feel for you all x

ReplyDeleteI was following the news all the way here in South Africa. I felt terrible for all those people losing their houses, but at least they could flee! I felt so sad about all the animals that perished in the fire :(
