adult acne and aprons

So yesterday was monday. blah. And since it was overcast and since the entire right side of my face has broken out (seriously...one of the only things that got me through my teens was the hope that someday I would grow out of bad skin...What Gives!), I decided to stay home and sew a little to cheer myself up. Here's what I made... It's an apron in case you can't tell.

Frankly I posted this because it's not that much fun to make something and have nobody to show it to. When I showed my husband his responses were, "Where is the top of it (to which I responded with a lesson in, and explanation of, hostess aprons)", and "Don't you already have a whole bunch of aprons", which is when I realized that I think I might be a collector of aprons... I mean I think I have a collection of aprons. It was sort of an inadvertent collection, but that is what happens when most of your worldly belongings are in storage. You forget about the seven aprons you already have and you buy/make more. Anyway, aprons make me happy, hostess and otherwise. I hope you are having a happy Tuesday!

  1. You are so talented! Just whipping up aprons and all! Can I order one?? It's so cute and so well made, of course! I want to come over and sew with you, and take classes and learn from you...lets plan it. I'm coming down this week. When do you work?

  4. How cute is that? And I was totally just thinking... "I'd like a really cute apron. I wonder where I can get one." I didn't know that I was acquainted with an apron expert!

  6. I was very impressed by both the dress form and the apron. Adorable. Sorry about the acne -- I've had it pretty much for 20 years straight, and am now starting to get wrinkles too. Seems a little unfair, doesn't it?

  7. Wahoo for you and your hostess apron! An apron collection is a very practical collection. I wholeheartedly support it. I also support your collection of silverspoonsthatmightbecomemobiles. I have some super fun fabric that I got at piper's, in hopes of turning it into an apron. The fabric's been sitting in my closet for about a month. Thanks for re-motivating me! P.S. Maybe you should quit nursing and start an apron company. You already have 3 orders for heaven's sake! Heck, I'll take one too--make that 4!
