me and the inernet have reached an agreement

So last week I was feeling just un-well. I knew the reason. It was because I had been eating garbage lately. We had been traveling a lot, and I just had not gotten to the grocery store. Plus I was feeling un-inspired about cooking. I didn't know what to make for dinner. And so I visited HERE and it made me happy and sad at the same time.

But it inspired me. I took Avery to the store and walked through the produce isles letting her smell all of the fruits. Her eyes lit up when I held a ripe peach or pear in front or her nose. It was fabulous. I have big dreams of my own garden someday... I dream about digging in the soil, and feeding my family fresh garden grown fruits and veggies. And summer days spent gathering and canning and eating. In my dreams I am wearing a darling apron and my children (plural) are all remarkably well behaved and equally excited about the task. We'll see.

But for now, I guess the Harmon's produce isle will have to suffice.

So here is my Internet offering for you. This is one of my favorite things to make for dinner when I don't know what else to make, and haven't been to the store. Tuna melts. You just mix tuna, mayo, red onion (or green), and celery, put it on a slice of bread, sprinkle with sharp cheddar, then cook in the oven at 400 for about ten minutes (maybe less...I never really time it, just take it out when toasty.)

Make THIS for dinner:

And to drink,

This is one of my very favorite things to drink if I need a little something special. You just mix juice with sparkling water. It's so yummy...you get the festivity of soda but with no high fructose corn syrup. I like to use pomegranate and orange, but any kind will do.

  1. I LOVE tuna melts. I just had one today. That whole can a week thing saddens me :) Aaron is always telling me to lay off the tuna so that I don't poison this baby with mercury. Well, I'm already going to parent hell, so what's the problem?
