rehab? part 2

So as I started getting comments about my last post, I re-read it, and realized that it came off sounding a little more negative than I intended. One more thing that is not so great about the Internet, is that sarcasm doesn't always come across well. At any rate, I mostly meant what I said. Just not in such a complaining and self deprecating way. I think I will make some little internet rules for myself though.

The thing is, I don't actually have that much of a problem with spending too much time on line
most days. I go through phases. And I think the Internet has wonderful power for good. It's just that I have been thinking a lot lately about how I spend my time, and my energy, and I want to make sure that it is in a positive and beneficial way-- in a purposeful way-- and in a way that is going to lead me towards ultimate goals in my life. And that goes for my relationships with people as well...but that is a whole other post;).

Anyway, thanks for listening to my rant, and sorry that you will never get those two minutes of your life back.

For Internet with the power of good visit here.

  1. You know, I blog pretty much entirely for grandparents. Those who are away from us that want to see the kids as much as possible. I have to try really hard not to get caught up in the "perfect mom/perfect family" blog thing. Mine is just an online journal and I fully intend to have it printed yearly so I can have that record!

I also love to keep in touch with friends this way. But I try not to check too often.

  2. oh, the computer addiction -- how i have struggled! it sings a very seductive siren song from its perch in the office.

having two kids and just being busier is helping with the addiction. and i've made a pretty concerted effort to be more moderate lately, but it can be a huge time-sucker.

it's been good for me in some ways, too, though. a nice creative outlet for writing, great for keeping in touch with dear ones, and i have truly been inspired by other mothers/women in the ether who have made me want to be more present in my own life. (you're one of those :)

  3. I think anyone who is still kickin' it with the bunny ears can be justified in a little extra computer time! I love reading your blog--I don't have to worry about Avery's health as long as I can see her cute pictures!

  4. We are all in the same boat, aren't we?! Seriously, though. We all have similar worries, habits, and we ALL BLOG! Some of us blog to brag, others to connect, or simply to record life...it just depends on the day for me :)
Thanks for your honesty. I would rather read your blog than some annoying over-achiever Mom ANY DAY! Ps...you are a crafty, creative genius! DON'T EVER FORGET IT!!!
