The Upside of Illness
The truth is, when I wrote about being sick last week it was mostly for the benefit of my husband. He happened to be in Miami "working" while poor Avery and I were home in our jammies coughing and throwing up. I just wanted him to have a visual of our day as he was on a sunny golf course living it up.
It was a rough week. But he is home now, and we are on the mend!
I was hoping to get lots of things (messy, annoying, disruptive projects) done while he was gone and not a single one of them got done.
But despite feeling pretty terrible I was also a little bored so I pulled out some felt and made this little Matryoshka Doll ornament for Avery.
I quite like her.
And I thought you might like to make her too. Come back tomorrow and I'll have the pattern and directions for you.
Merry Christmas!

Oh, I absolutely love her. You'll have to help me make one. Because no matter how detailed and perfect your directions are, you know how I am at translating pattern into project.
ReplyDeleteJust darling Danielle!OX, Mom
ReplyDeleteYou amaze me. How did you come up with that randomly?! She is precious.
ReplyDeleteDanielle, I love that little thing! You are one of the few people whose crafts I always, always like, and I'm not really a crafty person. You just have an amazing sense of style -- thanks for sharing it with the rest of us :)
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable. I'm thinking I'll make one in black and white, as those are our Christmas colors this year.
ReplyDeleteps I love your anonymous mom's comments :)
ReplyDeleteYour ideas are so so so darling, Danielle! I'm glad you're feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower and love your ideas. Some of the crafty things found on blogs are sort of (ugh..hmmm), but yours rock.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be tackling this and the yarn balls, and if you don't mind I'd like to use your photo and link back to your site for the directions once we post.
I have a 20 month old, so these will be perfect for the tree.
Thank you so much for posting this! I'm going to make some with my mom for Christmas.
ReplyDeletethank you very much for this free pattern.
