Project Run And Play Week 3

Well it's Friday and that means a new look for Project Run & Play! This week was sewing through the decades and I am super excited to see what everyone did. I am hoping to squeak by this week because I have a feeling the competition is going to be fierce!

Vote here for your favorite!

I think Avery looks pretty sweet in her 40's inspired look.

For my look this week I sort of re-did a sun-suit romper that I had designed last Spring for Once Upon a Thread. I just love a romper and I guess I haven't gotten it out of my system. Since the rules for the competition are that we can start from a pattern as long as we redesign it I felt OK about this, especially since the pattern I was starting from was one that I completely designed in the first place. Plus it gave me a chance to work out a few of the kinks from the last time I did it. I added a removable linen collar and snaps at the crotch to make potty trips easier for a 3 year old. Plus I did a few fit adjustments.

I think the back is my favorite part. I love the stripe and how it opens a bit to vent.

This look is sweet and simple.

More close-ups later. My computer is being crazy as I have managed to fill up the hard drive with photos. My children are sick, and I am worn out! Tired but happy to share this little outfit with you.

Thanks for playing along!

  1. I love this look so much (I adore the simplicity of it, I get so tired of feeling like the only things that can catch people's eyes are the bright sparkly ones)

Not to mention how many time's I walked past your fabric choice over and over again at the fabric store this summer, and then finally broke down a few weeks ago and bought some (with no project in mind) because I couldn't stop being attracted to it's timeless feel!

  2. Aw, this is super sweet and beautiful. I love it. I also love how you made a beach set up indoors - it actually took me awhile to realize it because it was so convincing. Nice to see indoor photo options in this weather :) Good luck!!

  3. your daughter does look like an old fashioned doll :)

  4. I love this so much! Your daughter does look like a doll, she is gorgeous. I love the simplicity of the look as well, sometimes one phenomenal piece is all it takes for a winning look!

  5. ha, you couldn't make something less than perfect even if you tried. it's beautiful! and my goodness, so is avery. she has that 40s look down doesn't she?

i haven't even looked at the others yet! xo

  6. This is so sweet, Danielle. Love the colors and the photo shoot and your daughter's cute face. Perfect!

  7. OH MY GOODNESS! Will you please come design my wardrobe!?! You have exceptional taste and skill!

    Good luck!

  8. I love your little porcelain doll in this romper! Bet you can't wait for summer so she can wear that all the time! :)

  9. you are so humble and so cute but let me say, you are winning because you are the BEST! seriously, i LOVE each one of your designs. keep it up girl!

  10. Another great design! So cute and so sweet and so comfy looking. I also love the "beach" scene you set up.

  11. Bummed you didn't win this round.
Not a huge fan of the winning choice. I like yours FAR better...but for some odd reason my opinion doesn't trump everyone elses?! How silly.

  12. Oh, I love this design! I loved when I saw it on Once Upon a Thread, too. :)
