The Holidays are a wonderful time for making, and I certainly love to get my craft on. But I have also realized that when it comes to hours-to-go-around, I have to pick and choose my projects carefully. I was thinking about hand-making Holiday Cards for my friends and family, because its important to me that they receive something not only beautiful, well designed, and well crafted, but also something that feels personal.
But then I was contacted by Minted, an online card& invitation company which just so happens to cover all those bases beautifully. They asked me to check out their stuff, and share my thoughts with you.
They have a huge selection of really chic, modern card designs, each of which can be further customized by adding my own photo, selecting design colors & text, and choosing from several darling shapes of cards. The process of downloading my photo and playing around with the customizing options was quite simple, and fun.
Plus I can choose from flat cards, folded cards, post cards, or mini books, and have them printed on a large selection of high-quality papers, depending on how much I'd like to spend. But truth be told, the quality of even their most basic paper seems really substantial and nice.
Here's what gets me really excited--
The icing on the darling Holiday Card cake is that I can add envelope liners and labels. Tiny stripes and polkadots?! Yes please.
And lets just say this is the year I finally get around to including a family letter too? I mean, Avery really is enjoying preschool & ballet, and Ollie started saying "dammit" as frequently as possible, and people should know about it!
There's room for that right on the back or inside, as well as space for a few (or many) more photos, which is so nice, because lets face it-- it's hard to choose just one sometimes.
I am loving their huge selection of frame-worthy, non-photo cards too. How cute would those be with a little string attached to the back, hanging on a wall or tree?
I imagine that these cards might seem a little pricier than some people would be willing to spend, but they are also a really great value when you consider the quality. Plus you can add as many or few extra bells and whistles as you want, and there are so many different options, I'm sure most people can find something they'd be thrilled to give, at any price point.
It's official. This year I'm creating my Holiday cards with Minted, and spending a few more of my holiday making hours, creating fun and memories with my rug-rats.
Visit Minted to get started on creating your own Holiday Cards. Looks like they have a sale going 'til Monday so you might want to scoot.
